Halloween Carnival

Each year there is a Halloween Carnival thrown for the students living on campus. Matt & I helped out this year and I decided to dress up. Matt didn't really want to so he thought he's wear his clothes he had worn teaching earlier today, so he was abviously dressed up as a teacher. It was so fun! We made slime, had popcorn straight from an old fashioned popcorn machine, cotton candy and donuts on a string. It was geared towards kids mostly, but we had a blast!
It took me about an hour to get my costume together, complete with a big fluffy tail! I was Gertrude McFuzz!

Hoedown Throwdown!

This post is for Amanda - my Hannah Montana buddy! If you also want to learn how to do the "Hoedown Throwdown" from "Hannah Montana: The Movie," visit this link. I expect you to know it soon! I must say that I didn't like Miss Hannah at first, but I happen to like the movie. I know. But it's just fun - and it has a cute story. Anyway, here is the hoedown, enjoy!

Man, if I had the Right Outfit...

 for these...

Even though we all know that the right thing to do is create the outfit around the shoe!
And enough money for these...

But, oh man, everyone needs a good pair of amazing boots!
Or an appropriate event for these...

Well, there's always a good excuse for a fierce pair of shoes!
I want so much...

Design for our Lives

I don't know if many of you know that my brother Talin is a talented graphic design artist. He's worked so hard to get where he is and he constantly continues to amaze me with his creative eye. I was browsing around the website of the company he works for and decided to pull out some pics so you can all see the kind of amazing work they do. It's so fun to see Tal's work on display for the world to see. When you're looking at something like this do you truly appreciate the countless hours designers, photographers - artists! - spend on this? Not really, but it's so cool when you start to view everything as design - the very chair your sitting in, whether ugly or architecturally brilliant, was actually conceptualized by someone for the simple purpose of giving your butt a space to rest. It blows my mind when I think that everything we see, touch and even sit on has been carefully thought out - wow! And my brother contributes to that, you get to see his work! I love my brother so much and want him to know how very proud of him I am! And on top of all that he does work-wise, he also has a beautiful wife Jen (who is an an amazing mom and teacher!) and baby, Ezra - he's just awesome!
So here's to all of you designers, we thank you for the chairs we sit in, books to marvel at and many more, innumerable, things that surround us constantly!
Much love!

Nine

Chalk full of fabulous performers! Basically everyone in the cast has either won or been nominated for an Academy Award - Judy Dench, Daniel Day Lewis, Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, etc! Also, contains one of my favorite Broadway songs, "Unusual Way." Enjoy the song (pulled from the revival Broadway cast recording) and the trailer from the upcoming movie directed by Rob Marshall, director of "Chicago."

Bodie Brower Photo Class

I was able to attend a photography class by Bodie Brower. I met Bodie when he was taking pictures at Chris & Brittany's wedding in September. It was great to get together with fellow photographers, get more familiar with  my camera and learn what I can do to better myself as a professional photographer! It was so fun, Bodie and his wife Laura were so nice and accommodating - the cupcakes were top notch and I got lost on the way there (as always)! I also got some valuable feedback from the Browers about my work - the best thing you can do is get advice from those who have been where you want to go!

I was also able to attend a regional conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints this morning, it was so amazing. The Spectrum (our main athletic facility on the USU campus for basketball, etc.) was filled to the brim with many stakes from throughout Cache Valley. We were privileged to hear from President Henry B. Eyring of the First Presidency and M. Russell Ballard of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles, along with the Primary General President Cheryl C. Lant and Ronald A. Rasband of the Presidency of the Area 70. As always it was just what I needed. I was reminded that we are here to serve one another, there are so many things that I do for myself and I should be taking that time to give to others and take time out to attend the temple. We become less selfish and prideful as we lose ourselves in the service of the Lord.

Josh & That Idaho Sky!

Our friend Dan showed me these great photos he had taken with his cell phone and I thought he should start a blog and just put up the pictures he's taken with his phone. He hasn't yet, even though I really think he needs to. Anyway, I was up in Preston, Idaho yesterday and it was beautiful. Don't laugh, it really was. The sky was unbelievable, the drive was gorgeous! I had a fun time out in the amazing fall weather and I got some fun shots of the sky with my phone! I'm always amazed at how cool they come out, and it's just a phone! So here are some from my adventures - I love fall! Don't worry mom, I was stopped when I took these.

I also have a few of Josh, we have such a good time - he's such a good boy! And, did I mention, cute?  He completely brightens my day! Well, he absolutely loves my phone, he goes nuts when I pull it out and take pictures of him with it. I also have a picture of my nephew Ezra on the main screen and I taught Josh how to say "Ezra." I swear he said it! How cute, huh? We also like to send pictures to his mom to make her smile while she's in class, so here are a few of our favorites!

He also loves "Special Agent Oso" on the Disney Channel, I thought this was funny, he was totally craning his neck to see this show and he would tap the screen with his little hand.

Maybe another. Hehe!

Here's Kyle!

Our good friend Kyle called the other day to ask if I would take pictures of him to use in advertising his senior recital - obviously he plays the Sousaphone, he's awesome like that! Anyway, we enjoy hanging out with Kyle, he's always upbeat and so nice! It's always flattering when another artist likes you work, I'm honored to work with Kyle! I had so much fun walking around campus taking pictures of him. Oh, and he has a totally kickin' beard! More to come!

Lovin' This One!

I'm working on editing the pics I took of Jake & Jackson last Monday, and I just got so excited about this one! I had so much fun with these boys - my favorite thing about it is their cute smiles! So, once again, a preview!

Accidentally on Purpose

I have to say that I selected this title for two reasons. I started watching the show "Accidentally on Purpose" last night and I loved it! I didn't realize how much i missed Jenna Elfman since her days on "Dharma & Greg." She is absolutely hilarious and shows it in her new show on CBS. I have to say that if you're not watching it, you should be.
Second, I happened upon this photo while finishing up my editing for my brother-in-law's senior portrait shoot. I'm about five inches taller than Scott, which won't last for long since he's growing like a weed, and I stood next to this fence and told him to lean on it with his left arm. He stood in front of it and said, "I'm not tall enough." So I got this shot as he was trying to prove to me that he indeed was not tall enough to make it look normal. This happened and I love it!

Um . . I love this one too!

Did I mention he plays the trombone?

Jake & Jackson - All Grown Up!

These boys are so adorable! I've watched them grow up and I can't believe how much they have! Jake is getting ready to graduate and Jackson is smack dab in the middle of junior high - oh my gosh! It was so fun to take pictures of them! I've been so busy lately, I just have to post one. Don't worry, more to come!
